What are the Blues?
Walkin' Blues plays from several styles of Blues music with a strong influence from the
"Chicago Blues" of the 1920's, '30's, and '40's as well as modern blues performed by
artists such as BB King and Eric Clapton. An urban sound that began to incorporate
electrically amplified instruments, artists like Muddy Waters, Howlin' Wolf, Little Walter,
Willie Dixon, and Sonny Boy Williamson cranked up the volume and created the template for Rock & Roll.
Little Walter, who played for a period with Muddy Waters, discovered the sound of playing
a harmonica through a tube guitar amp. The harmonica continues to be a strong solo
instrument in Blues today.
Most importantly you can't come to a Blues show without a Blues Moniker (e.g. Muddy Waters, Howlin' Wolf
- those weren't their real names)
